Hello everyone, my name is Inuyoko T’Alveni. I am a Ministress of this faith, and a member of its clergy since deoch 53. Last double-moon, I spoke about time. Specifically, some of my thoughts as to how time acts as a partner force of change. Today, we’re going to do things a little differently from normal. In our faith, we have a great many talented, passionate Aislings. People who utilize those talents throughout Temuair in myriad ways. I see them everywhere. Mentors of young sparks. Folks coming together to solve mysteries in House Macabre or the forests of Tagor. Historians and Philosophers. Lovers of sport and competition in the arena. But of course, being that my primary passion is this Shrine and all the faiths of Temuair, it particularly warms my heart when I meet people who choose to put their time and energy into theological pursuits. Whether that’s studying the Octave, reading works of theology, decorating the shrines, or giving Mass. Today, I’d like to bring forward one such Aisling to collaborate with me in this sermon. She is a passionate spark who has already made some wonderful connections and contributions here and in the other Shrines. She asked me if she could share some words with you all this sun, and I am overjoyed to accept. Trexie, the room is yours.

[Begin Trexie’s words]

Recently I was assigned a task by Inuyoko as a geas

on my path to becoming an Acolyte of the Temple of Deoch.

It was a simple tasking, pick three colors that I

associate with the Gods in our trinity and paint a scene

with words so that Inuyoko could get a better sense of my

creative mind and heart.

After some struggling the Spark of inspiration and

creativity manifested itself and I wound up writing a

short poem about the Deochian Trinity.  But Poetry is

an untilled field for me, I had never written poetry

before and I have not had anything to add to the Poetry

classes I've attended at the College.

I had anxiety about sharing this short poem, but luckily

enough it was just myself and Inuyoko in the Temple.

Between my trust in Inuyoko and her gentle reassurance

I was able to swallow back my fears and share my poem

with her.  After that I eventually came to the conclusion

that even if people laughed at my amateur attempt at

writing poetry I would have inspired some form of mirth

and joy..  So with that in mind I would like to share my

poem-type thing with all of you in the hopes that it

will touch your hearts in some manner.

It is untitled, but here it is..

*clears her throat and raises a scroll*

Awake

Curtains thrown

Beautiful orange greets

Another hopeful morning dawns

Warmth kindled with golden apex

Shadows are growing longer

Horizon fades purple

Linens cover

Sleep

Thank you for letting me share with all of you.

[End Trexie’s words]

Thank you for sharing, Trexie. I think your experiences hold some very valuable lessons for us as Deochans. We all experience some level of fear, anxiety, and confidence. For better or for worse, this is part of the spark. The freedom and choice we have been gifted means that the path ahead of us is sometimes paved with uncertainty. And with that comes some insecurity. It would be silly to say that every thought we have, every rough draft, every etude, needs to be shared always. But at the same time, a work left unshared is one that cannot impact others. It is one that cannot be collaborated upon. What’s more, while there is always the potential for some pain if something we worked hard on isn’t received how we’d hoped, without making that leap, we lose out on some of the potential for growth and improvement.

With that said, I’d like to open things back up one last time for today, and ask you all: Do you have anything you want to share? Or do you have any stories of a time you pushed through doubt and had a surprising outcome? There is no pressure if no one wants to share.

Then with that, I want to thank you all for being with me today. Thank you again, Trexie, for suggesting this Mass idea, and for being a part of it with me. I hope that you all are able to venture forth, and keep pushing yourselves to be brave, be inspired, and let your spark shine brightly for all to see.

Mass is cast.
